BILLBOARD 1963 TOP ROCK’N’ROLL HITS Long Out of Print 25 YEARS ORIGINAL PRESSING and one of the last copies left in the world still factory sealed.

Billboard Top Rock & Roll Hits: 1963 offers ten great rock and roll hits that made the radio waves sizzle in 1963. Many of you who heard these tunes first on the radio will love this VINYL MASTERPIECE; and it makes a great introduction to this style of music for younger people as well. The sound quality is very good and the artwork reflects good judgment. Jimmy Gilmer & The Fireballs start this LP off with what in retrospect almost sounds like a bubblegum pop hit entitled "Sugar Shack." The beat is quite good and they sing and play this to perfection. Jimmy's diction is excellent and it bolsters his performance as he sings this one out strong! "Sugar Shack" is a peppy little number that you may just like more than you think you will. Jan & Dean weigh in with an awesome hit, "Surf City." Jan & Dean can sometimes sound like The Beach Boys but as always they hold their own very well; the beat is awesome and the background harmonizing is terrific! Listen also for The Chiffons singing their hearts out on "He's So Fine." The Chiffons sing of the men they love and how much they want to start a romantic relationship with their men. The Kingsmen turn in a solid hit with "Louie, Louie;" and there's also a major highlight of this album in The Essex as they do "Easier Said Than Done." "Easier Said Than Done" rocks very well for an early rock hit and this impresses me a lot. Nino Tempo & April Stevens perform what is probably my very favorite song on this album, "Deep Purple." "Deep Purple" has major and minor modulations that are brilliantly done and Nino Tempo & April Stevens never miss a beat! I love that percussion on "Deep Purple," too. The Beach Boys end the album strong with "Surfin' U.S.A." They harmonize and sing this without a superfluous note; and the beat is awesome! The musical arrangement uses the guitars, drums and percussion very well. Overall, you just have to have this LP if you love early American rock and roll. The LP is chock full of hits.

This LP is full of Rock’n’Roll Hall of Fame artists

Billboard 1963 has tracks like

Sugar Shack/Jimmy Gilmer & The Fireballs,

Surf City/Jan & Dean,

He's So Fine/Chiffons,

Its My Party/Leslie Gore,

NUGGETS 1965 - 68 - Original Artyfacts From The First Psychedelic Era  Double LP set

It all started back in 1971 when music aficionado and future Patti Smith Group guitarist Lenny Kaye lovingly compiled the now-classic (and long out-of-print) two-LP collection called Nuggets: Original Artyfacts From The First Psychedelic Era, 1965-1968 for Elektra Records. During the '80s, Rhino attempted to pick up the ball by releasing their own Nuggets volumes. Now, both Rhino and Kaye combine forces to set the record straight, once and for all. Their new Nuggets box set not only contains the original Kaye-compiled album in its entirety but also completes the picture with essential psychedelic tunes that were left off the first time around. It's guaranteed to give you a "psychotic reaction."

BILLBOARD 1966 TOP ROCK’N’ROLL HITS Long Out of Print ORIGINAL 1980'S PRESSING and one of the last copies left in the world still factory sealed. -

Rock 'n' roll compilations are as numerous as shells and rocks on a Pacifica beach. It's difficult to decide which ones to buy. There are a rare few that are must own, usually the ones on TV BUT VINYL LIKE THIS YOU CAN NEVER FIND ON TV OR AT ANY RECORD STORE IN THE WORLD.  Trying to collect the BILLBOARD series,  IS A PROCESS THAT CAN BE VERY HARD. There's no second guessing with this collection-it's awesome! The year 1966 was an explosive year in music. The Beach Boys-PET SOUND, The Beatles-REVOLVER, The Byrds-FIFTH DIMENSION were a few of the most valuable albums released. A small sampling of the top singles are collected here. "I'm A Believer" is a marvelous opening track, with crystal clear sound quality. All the songs are classic-"Wild Thing", "Soul And Inspiration", "Good Vibrations",  just to name a few. Performed by top 1960s bands-The Lovin' Spoonful, The Beach Boys, Tommy James, The Righteous Brothers, The Mamas & The Papas. Though every song and band are noteworthy, I'd be here for hours describing them. Inside is a time capsule with the top headlines, fads, movies, TV shows, plays, books, and debuts. This 1966 one is excellent way to get terrific songs with great sound. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Billboard Top Rock & Roll Hits: 1966 has ten great rock and roll hits that really rocked us back in 1966! I like the diversity of the artists on this album and the sound quality is also very good. The Monkees kick it off right with "I'm A Believer." This sounds a bit like pop in retrospective but it does rock rather well. The Monkees sings this so well and the melody is very catchy--love that percussion! The Lovin' Spoonful continues with "Summer In The City;" this gritty rock tune always worked well and it still sounds very good today, I like the musical arrangement with the drums and percussion; and they sing this great. I really like "Summer In The City." Tommy James And The Shondells sing a seductive, romantic little number called "Hanky Panky;" gee, I wonder what they're singing about? Tommy James And The Shondells do this with a lot of energy and the modulations between major and minor keys work so well on "Hanky Panky." "(You're My) Soul And Inspiration" comes to us courtesy of The Righteous Brothers; they sing this passionately and the backup vocalists do equally well on this fine number. Listen also for The Mamas & The Papas doing their classic hit "Monday, Monday." "Monday, Monday" features their incredible ability to sing, harmonize and pass along that smooth California sound almost effortlessly. The Beach Boys follow with "Good Vibrations;" this tune is timeless and it sounds just as grand as the first time I ever heard it. I especially like the middle of the song but it all works very well and "Good Vibrations" is one of the best rock songs ever written.   The Supremes - You Can't Hurry Love - The Four Tops - Reach Out I'll Be there & Nancy Sinatra's Those Boots are Made For Walkin'. What a year

Hallucinations: Psychedelic Pop Nuggets From The WEA Vaults PURPLE MARBLE LP SET

Producer Andrew Sandoval has pulled together twenty-four superb psych-pop tracks from the WEA vaults, including sides culled from master tapes of Warner, Reprise, Loma, Atco, Valiant, and Cotillion. The focus is on singles, with a few album tracks mixed in, and primarily from artists who were either unknown, or were stepping outside their regular domain for an experimental run down the psychedelic highway. Some of the best known names here are those of the session producers, including Lenny Waronker, Jerry Yester, Don & Phil Everly, Don Adrissi, Jimmy Bowen, Joey Levine, Curt Boettcher, and Richard Perry.

Better known artists, like The Tokens, are represented by sides that step away from their familiar hits, and the one-off singles and rare album tracks explore lesser known sides of the commercial psych boom. Though recorded in proper studios for major labels, these tracks still temper their hit-seeking with a healthy dollop of experimental. The key years of 1966 through 1968 yield an entire program of psych-tinged folk and sunshine rock, heavy on the harmonies and studio craft.

Highlights include the trippy vocals, space sounds and discothèque beat of Baker Knight's "Hallucinations," the raga jangle of Adrian Pride's "Her Name is Melody," the funky "Straight Aero" by Jeff Thomas, the jugband-styled harmonies of MC^2's "My Mind Goes High," the Sgt. Pepper-esque "Lucifer" from future Ohio Express mastermind Joey Levine, and the droning "Hell Will Take Care of Her" from Brass Buttons. Fans of the mid-80s paisley underground, particularly The Rain Parade, early Bangles and Three O'Clock, will find this volume familiar and compelling.

'60s folk fans will want to check out the Curt Boettcher-produced cover of Bob Gibson and Phil Ochs' "That's the Way It's Gonna Be," complete with a variable-speed guitar and backward koto instrumental break. Songwriter Paul Williams' debuts as a performer on The Holy Mackerel's "Wildflowers," complete with Leslie-fied lead vocals, and the original mono single mix of The Monkees' "Porpoise Song" makes it's CD debut. Producer Sandoval lovingly documents each side with details on the band and the circumstances of the track's creation. The insert booklet also includes many photos and label reproductions, and the purpose-built tri-fold digipack features a neat pop-art color wheel. Originally issued by Rhino Handmade as "Hallucinations: Psychedelic Pop Nuggets from the WEA Vaults," this has been reissued with a minor track change in the UK under the title, "My Mind Goes High

Pebbles VOLUME ONE LP is a fine compilation of U.S. underground and garage singles from the mid-to-late 1960s. Originally released in 1978 by a small Australian record label, the first volume of the Pebbles series is one of the quintessential platters of obscure '60s garage rock. The songs here are rough, rowdy and raw, bashed out with a surplus of passion and youthful aggression. This excellent set boasts some of the most revered garage rock tunes ever made and it's a key purchase for any fan of '60s obscurity.

AUDIOPHILE OLDIES - Out Of Print! RARE AND VALUABLE Premium Records proudly presents Audiophile Oldies! This high quality recording contains Audiophile Favorites from a time since passed that perhaps will tug at heartstrings with a bit of nostalgia. An astounding imported 180 gram LP from the Premium label, it contains 14 wonderful tracks from artists such as Paul Anka, Nat King Cole, Connie Francis, The Everly Brothers, Andy Williams and more!! A compilation of great hits from various artists in the 1950s and 1960s. The 1950's were a time of changes and the music of the decade both reflected the cultural changes that were happening while still holding on to the societal norms of the past. Following the detrimental effects of World War II, the United States was about to embark on a musical journey that would change the face of music for decades to come. Traditional Pop music of the 1950's refers to the music that was popular before rock music came into the mainstream in the middle of the fifties. It also refers to music that was popular at the same time as the beginning of rock music and through the decade but remained largely free of rock influences. Some examples of traditional pop artists who were popular during the decade were Perry Como, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole , Patti Page and Dean Martin. They sang a lot of original material, but a lot of their most popular hits were American standards, or songs that had been released many years previously and were already well known by the public. There can be identified three main pockets of early 60's pop. The East Coast DooWop and girl groups were singers and groups whose origins are in the streetcorner a cappella groups found in many urban centers. With very rare exceptions, these groups did not write their own songs, but relied on their handlers to set up the recording sessions, pick the material, and produce the records. In fact, many of these behind-the-scenes people eventually became stars in their own right in the seventies. The R&B and Soul scene included many talented people who often didn't receive the popularity of less-talented white groups, because of barriers and prejudices against buying "race" records. Later in the decade, after the British groups acknowledged their debt to soul music, and as the civil rights movement inspired black pride, the general American public rediscovered these performers. The California scene was first dominated by instrumental surf groups. Then the Beach Boys added vocal harmonies to the surf sound. This surf-&-drag, fun-in-the-sun sound was so popular that the style showed up all over the place, even in tv theme songs such as the Munsters and Hawaii Five-O. But the real important stuff was happening in the recording studios, where young studio wizards like Brian Wilson , Phil Spector, and the team of Sloan & Barri began turning the studio itself into their instrument, looking for new sounds in a quest not for records but for productions. SUNSHINE POP NUGGETS ON DOUBLE COLORED VINYL LIMITED TO 5500 PIECES WORLDWIDE AND THE 1ST VINYL PRESSING EVER OF THIS SET.

Since the first Nuggets in 1972, the entire series has been grounded in the gritty, dirty sound of garage rock, so much so that Rhino's 2001 box set of British and foreign psychedelic nuggets favored harder rock over the fruity, precious side of British psych. Collectors treasured rare singles before Nuggets, but the series created an aesthetic that emphasized the raw, trippy, wild, and woolly over the soft, lush, harmony-laden psychedelicized sounds of AM pop radio. The Rubbles Collection, Mindrockers, The Trash Box -- all of them were dedicated to freaky guitar rock, and that mindset ruled until the latter half of the '90s, when the well had started to run dry, as labels like Sundazed issued the complete recorded works of obscure garage rockers who had released only one single during their lifetimes. Around this time, collectors -- including many third-generation music fanatics raised in the era of CD reissues rather than record fairs -- began to favor the soft sunshine pop of the late '60s, when square vocal groups started to get hip and record trippy music. Bands like the Millennium, the Association, and Yellow Balloon became hip currency, as did producers like Curt Boettcher and songwriters like Paul Williams. This was close to anathema for the hardcore garage rock fiends because this was not rock & roll, it was pop music whose commercial aspirations failed. Nevertheless, most hardcore record geeks have a fondness for this stuff, since it's not only melodic and well produced, but it's terribly interesting to hear how underground ideas were borrowed and assimilated into mainstream music; often, it's as strange as it was in the underground, if not stranger. Fans of this breed of psychedelic pop were insatiable, and there was a certain thrill to the fact that it was hard to track down, since it was either issued in Japan, buried as album tracks on reissues, or never made it to CD at all. That's why Rhino Handmade's foray into the sound with Come to the Sunshine: Soft Pop Nuggets from the WEA Vaults and its companion release, Hallucinations: Psychedelic Pop Nuggets from the WEA Vaults, is so welcome -- while they're only available as limited editions, they're also the first widely available American samplers of this style. That alone would make them noteworthy, but what makes them essential (at least for hardcore record collectors), is that they're expertly done. Where previous installments of Nuggets concentrated on singles, Come to the Sunshine is a true excavation of the vaults, picking overlooked album tracks and neglected singles from a cornucopia of WEA-owned labels, including Warner Bros., Cotillion, Jubilee, Valiant, Reprise, and Atco. There are recognizable names here -- more so than on the original Nuggets -- but no charting hits, and it's easy to listen to "Talking to the Flowers" without realizing that it's the Everly Brothers (although Davy Jones' voice on the Paul Williams-composed "Someday Man" is a giveaway that it's the Monkees). There's a certain uniformity of sound here -- lots of luxurious strings, multi-part harmonies, horns, and keyboards, very little in the way of trippy studio effects -- but each group has a different spin on this signature sound, which keeps things interesting over the course of 24 tracks. If there are no outright classics here, as there was on the very first Nuggets (which is truly the comparison point, since that was the first serious multi-artist retrospective of psychedelic garage rock, and this is the first serious multi-artist retrospective of soft psychedelic pop), that's almost beside the point, since unlike garage rock, the song takes a back seat to the production and the overall feel. On that level, Come to the Sunshine is not just successful, but it's a definitive portrait and introduction to appeals of soft AM pop
