Well the Four Leaf Clover is a mutation that forms from the White Clover Plant otherwise known as trifolium repens. The white Clover plant usually produces three leaf clovers, however mutations do occur and four leaf clovers occasionally appear. The white clover plant can actually produce mutations of more than four leaves, with the most ever found being a 21 leaf clover! However, this mutation is VERY rare, it is said that there is roughly 10,000 three leaf clovers to every one four leaf clover! This is why the four leaf clover is considered to be so lucky.
