This is a really cute set of 5 vintage 1940's Children's Valentine's Day Greeting Cards.
#1 "I Want You For My Valentine." - Four Fold 10 1/2" by 8 3/4" on light thin offwhite paper. It has a wonderful red, black and silver design. It has a handwritten name on the inside. It has some minor wear around the edges, and yellowing from age. The maker's marks on the back read: "Made in USA."
#2 "To A Dear Teacher" Heart Shaped and measures approx. 4" by 4". It opens to reveal inside caption. There is a handwritten name. Yellow from age and a bit of wear around the edges. The maker's marks on the back read: "A-Meri-Card. Made in USA. p-4567."
#3 "The Valentine I Send You....." Measures 4 3/4" by 4" it folds back to stand up on a desk or dresser. There is no hand writing. Yellowing from age and minor wear around the edges. Maker's marks read: "Made in USA."
#4 "It's Kind of Funny, Maybe - " 4 Fold & Measures 7" by 9" when open. "Oh Gosh!" handwriting. Yellowing from age. A Bit of Wear around the ages. Maker's marks: "5 VH 326 Copyright Rust Craft Boston USA."
#5 "Aiming Straight At Your Heart." Has been torn and is missing an edge. Measures 4" by 2 1/2". Handwriting on the back. Yellowing and wear around the edges.
These have been stored away in a trunk for years. They smell a bit like old paper and ink.
They are very cute !!!! They are great for decorations, scrapbooks, etc !!!!
