Raphaël, nom francisé de Raffaello Sanzio, est un peintre et architecte italien de la Haute Renaissance, né le 28 mars ou 6 avril 1483 à Urbino dans les Marches italiennes et mort le 6 avril 1520 à Rome. Son travail  est admiré pour sa clarté de forme, sa facilité de composition et sa réalisation visuelle de l'idéal néoplatonicien  de la grandeur humaine . Avec Michel-Ange  et Léonard de Vinci , il forme la trinité traditionnelle des grands maîtres de cette période.

Raphaël, French name of Raffaello Sanzio, is an Italian painter and architect of the High Renaissance, born March 28 or April 6, 1483 in Urbino in the Italian Marches and died April 6, 1520 in Rome. His work is admired for its clarity of form, ease of composition, and visual realization of the Neoplatonic ideal of human greatness. With Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci, he forms the traditional trinity of the great masters of this period.
