Advertisement to front pastedown to The Caxtons states 'Lord Lyttons Novels. The Caxton Edition. Messrs. George Routledge and Sons beg to announce the publication of a New Edition of Lord Lytton's Novels, which will be issued in twenty monthly volumes.'

The Caxtons; "My Novel " by Pisistratus Caxton Or, Varieties in English Life, in two volumes; Paul Clifford; The Parisians, complete in one volume; Rienzi: The Last of the Roman Tribunes; What will he do with it? in two volumes [by Pisistraus Caxon, author of My Novel]; Harold: The Last of the Saxons Kings; Kenelm Chillingly, his Adventures and Opinions; Ernest Maltravers and Alice, or the Mysteries, bound in one volume; The Last of the Barons; Pelham and The Disowned, bound in one volume; Eugene Aram and Zanoni, bound in one volume; Night and Morning; A Strange Story and The Haunted and the Haunters; Leila or the Siege of Granada; Calderon the Courtier; and The Pilgrims of the Rhine; Devereux and Godolphin, bound in one volume; The Coming Race: Falkland, Zicci and Pausanias the Spartan.

Edward George Earle Lytton Bulwer-Lytton, 1st Baron Lytton PC (1803 - 1873), was an English novelist, poet, playwright, and politician. He was immensely popular with the reading public and wrote a stream of bestselling novels which earned him a considerable fortune.

CONDITION

In cloth bindings. Externally, sound but with slight bumping and wear to extremities and marks to boards, several volumes cocked. Ten hinges strained. Internally, generally firmly bound although slightly strained in places. Bright but with only the odd spot and handling marks. The occasional page unopened.
