WHY IT'S GREAT QUALITY
We use the King of Cacao - organic raw Criollo cacao beans - in our cacao liquor, guaranteeing at least 75% content of this is rare, very high-quality aromatic bean, used by luxury chocolate brands like Valrhona, and artisan chocolate brands like Duffy’s and Forever Cacao. It’s considered a delicacy and prized for its superior flavour – the result of the bean’s higher fat content.
All our cacao is 100% raw, pure cacao. Nothing added, nothing taken away. No additives or preservatives. No nasties.
It doesn't just taste good, as you probably know cacao does good too. This organic raw cacao liquor is a high functioning superfood; packed full of nutrients and antioxidants. And we make sure it stays that way; all our cacao products are raw, retaining far more nutrients and goodness than beans that have been roasted, or alkalised using the Dutch process.
WHAT IT'S FOR
Cacao liquor starts with cacao nibs. The nibs are ground into cacao liquor, which is also known as unsweetened chocolate or cocoa mass. The grinding process creates heat which melts the fat in the dry cacao nib and turns it into the liquid or liquor. Like the cocoa nibs it’s made from, it contains both cocoa solids and cocoa butter in roughly equal proportion.
Add more cacao powder to darken the chocolate. To offset the bitter taste, try mixing the liquor with a natural sweetener like Coconut Palm Sugar or Stevia Powder. Stir the liquor into hot milk for an indulgent drink or mix with your smoothie to satisfy that chocolate craving.

WHERE IT'S FROM
Our Criollo cacao beans are grown in the Peruvian Amazon, the spiritual home of cacao.
Enjoyed by locals long before they shared its secrets with the outside world, cacao and Peru have an intertwined history. Almost all of Peru’s cacao is grown by small holders who rely on it as their main source of income year-round. Most of the harvesting takes place between April and September and is called "la cosecha grande", which literally means "the big harvest" in Spanish. Their crop is sold to cooperatives who act as intermediaries. It's then processed in Peru before being trucked to Lima and exported to the UK.
Environmental impactPeruvian cacao is grown sustainably amongst trees or shrubs, using the Agroforestry land management system. This method has much less environmental impact than the fertiliser-heavy plantations that are common in West Africa and which cause so much deforestation.

The 5kg and 30kg block options are a solid block of cacao liquor intended for wholesale. They do not come in individual 1kg packets. They come in a carton with a plastic wrapper on the inside.

Within the UK we always offer free economy shipping. Most orders 250g or less are letterbox friendly and should go straight through your door. Orders worth more than 20 are usually automatically upgraded to recorded. For most orders we use Royal Mail Second Class which, although Ebay states 3-5 working days, typically arrives within 2. In fact, many of our customers are pleased to find their products arrive next day! If you're in a hurry to get your item, most listings include the option to upgrade to Royal Mail First Class. Express delivery is also available. We typically use Royal Mail Special Delivery, which guarantees your item will arrive before 1PM next day if you place your order before our 2PM cut off. For heavier parcels (larger than 2kg) we use a courier.
