the base, but no visible important defects; it is vintage, and has been on the shelf for a while, but this makes no difference, it will work just fine; we will stand behind it for 30 days.

TO WIT, IF THE POWER IS INTERUPTED, OR TURNED OFF, IT WILL NOT START BACK UP BURNING UNTIL IT COOLS DOWN TO ROOM TEMPERTURE, TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE FIXTURE, AND TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE BULB. THIS SELF CONTAINED SAFETY SWITCH IS fairly UNIQUE.
