A brightly coloured Oro Verde yellow Quartz. The yellow colour is enhanced by light irradiation, giving rise to this much sought after hue. The gemstones are completely inert after enhancement and the colour doesn't fade with time or sunlight. The size on this gem is impressive at over 2cm long giving it quite a visual impact. All my gems and minerals come with a small free gift. The gift is intended as a little fun to go with your purchase: most are relatively cheap gemstones but there are also a few lucky ones which aren't! To make it interesting for those who want a challenge, the gem is only identified inside the slip of paper. I hope you enjoy the challenge as much as I always do.

Lemon Quartz shares many properties with Citrine and can be treated as such. Originating mainly from Brazil, the most desirable colour is that achieved by irradiation and termed Oro Verde Yellow. The colour change is completely permanent, with the stunningly bright yellow often displaying tones of green. Citrine shares the honour of birthstone for November, with Topaz. Frequently available in sizes up to 20 carats and beyond, the largest known Citrine weighed approximately 11 tonnes
