Offered is a complete 12 volume set of Modern Home Sewing and Dressmaking. I'm cleaning out my parents' home and this item was purchased some time ago by my mother. All volumes were published in 1921 by the Institute of Modern Sewing, Inc., New Haven, CT. Condition wise, all 12 volumes are in terrific shape, vol. 1 does show a very slight wear to both the upper and lower right corners, otherwise all pages on all volumes throughout are square. The binding on all volumes is firm and intact.
The major detraction with the set is that the slipcover/case (see photos 1,2, and especially 3) is in poor condition; in this situation the photos tell the story. This negative, though, is more than offset by the fact that the original owner's certificate and its jacket are not only present but in in almost printing press like condition. Measuring unfolded approximately 17.5 inches in width and 13.25 in height, the certificate shows no tearing, fading, or wear. Other than some slight yellowing, which is largely unavoidable for type of vintage paper, the certificate is in about as good a condition as could be hoped for. Its jacket or sleeve is in equally pristine condition. Finally, the slipcover/case 'dust jacket' is not only intact but in very nice condition (see photos 1 & 2).
